Blue Jays Earn 7-6 Win Versus Red Sox
|
Despite a fine performance by shortstop Christian Arroyo, the Boston Red Sox lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-6. Arroyo went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Henry Hirsch picked up the win in relief. Ed Goodwin took the loss for Boston. The loss makes the Red Sox 12-18.
Rintaro Ikeda was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Ikeda said.
