Wet weather did not postpone the Cleveland-Tampa Bay ballgame.

Tampa Bay first baseman Dan Mitchell was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Cleveland beat the Rays, 9-8. Cleveland reliever Bobby Young was the winner. His record is now 1-5. Jon Carver took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jerry King in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old left-handed pitcher Jon Carver to win the game for Cleveland. The home crowd went nuts.

"This joint was rocking," said King.

The loss drops Tampa Bay to 13-16.
